Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

TAP meeting at OH

Jewish Learning Venture (JLV) trains and mentors a selected group of high school students to assist children with special needs and those experiencing difficulty in congregational classroom settings. Beginning with a week-long intensive training, and continuing monthly through the school year, teens study, learn skills, work in classrooms in their congregations, and reflect with one another about their experiences. JLV has proudly offered the Reta Emerson Fellowship/Teen Assistant Program (TAP) since 2002, and many OH teens have been a part of it. Rae Takiff, part of the 2021-2022 group, shared, “In my time so far being a part of the TAP program I have learned many valuable and helpful things that have applied to my journey as a madricha at my Hebrew school and furthermore, to my own life and experiences.” Again this year, OH is proud to host the TAP program. They will be meeting here on August 27, December 3, and April 14.
