TAP at Or Hadash

Jewish Learning Venture (JLV) trains and mentors a selected group of high school students to assist children with special needs and those experiencing difficulty in congregational classroom settings. Beginning with a week-long intensive training, and continuing monthly through the school year, teens study, learn skills, work in classrooms in their congregations, and reflect with one another about their experiences. JLV has proudly offered the Reta Emerson Fellowship/Teen Assistant Program (TAP) since 2002, and many OH teens have been a part of it.

Israel @75 Mitzvah Day - Sunday, April 23rd

"Jewish Federation will serve as the convener and organizer of mitzvah day activities organized by individual Jewish organizations, congregations and schools. Federation will provide a centralized website for marketing and registering volunteers for mitzvah day activities. It will be up to each individual organization to provide the staffing and support for their mitzvah day project."

"The Federation will encourage Jewish organizations, schools, congregations, individual families and Jewish groups to come together in small group/family stettings to have Shabbat meals (dinner, lunch, seudah shlishi)  in honor of Israel@75. Federation will provide marketing materials and Israel@75 Shabbat Dinner resource materials (online and pdf. readings, discussion guides, family activities, music, videos, movies that can be used at Israel@75 Shabbat Dinners".

Israel@75 Taste of Israel - Saligman Campus- Sunday, May 7

"During the afternoon the community will be invited to enjoy a large scale Israel Festival.  The festival will focus on Jewish/Israeli food with an additional theme of celebrating the culture and people of Israel. Possibly there will be a ticket cost to attend and then a cost to purchase food and items from individual vendors. Working with a program committee we will brainstorm festival themes and culinary approaches. "
