Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

Welcome Back Picnic and 3-Part Harmony

Join us again or for the first time at our welcome back picnic in September, with dairy/veggie kosher hoagies, chips, salads, etc. It's a super chill evening of dining al fresco and reconnecting after summer or finding new friends. It's a modified 3-part Harmony where all you have to bring is yourselves! The first part is a Tot Shabbat that is filled with songs, blessings, and a story, read by Rabbi Alanna, which usually has something to do with the next holiday in the liturgical calendar. Part two is usually a dairy/vegetarian potluck dinner, but this time OH provides all of the food! The final part of the evening is an intergenerational family service, with accompaniment on acoustic guitar and bongo drum by congregants. We use a family-oriented siddur for this service, with some abbreviated prayers, and the service goes maybe an hour, after which there is an oneg with yummy desserts. It's a come-as-you-are evening, where no one feels the need to dress up (that's really most of the time at OH), and music and stories fill the air. We hope to see you at OH for all or some of the parts!  Please RSVP by email to office@orhadash.com NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 6th.
