Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

Can you, do you BELONG here?!

A core value of Or Hadash is the FEELING OF BELONGING.

Accordingly, we believe that the best way to decide if you would like to join our congregation is to attend services and special programs, speak to members and read more detailed information about our congregation and the Reconstructionist Movement, now called Reconstructing Judaism.

Attending Services

Our services are always open to the public, but we ask that you please contact us at 215-283-0276, in advance, so that we can arrange for someone to greet and let you in upon your arrival. Safety and security are of utmost importance to us, so our building uses a fob security system to ensure these for our congregation.

The first (or occasionally the second) Friday of every month (October-May) is our 3-Part Harmony night, which is comprised of a Tot Shabbat service at 6:00 PM, a dairy/vegatarian Potluck Dinner at 6:30 PM, and a family intergenerational Kabbalat Shabbat service at 7:10 PM. This service is a great opportunity for families with young kids to get a feel for what Or Hadash is all about (hint: it's a little bit, say 1%, about deviled eggs made by the VP Membership!). It's also the time when we celebrate birthdays (for all ages) from the bimah and also at the oneg with a big cake. Check out our calendar to find out when the next 3-Part Harmony is taking place.

Visiting our SMILE Religious School

If you have a school-age child and would like for them to have the opportunity to try out a day at our SMILE school, please contact our Education Director, Rabbi Erin Hirsh at school@orhadash.com to set up a Sunday to visit. She can also answer any questions you may have about our SMILE school, or you can check out the Education section on our website.

Scheduling a Visit

Please call 215-283-0276 or send an e-mail to office@orhadash.com to schedule a visit at another time. We look forward to meeting you!
