Or Hadash Education Director, Barbara Weisman, will provide an interactive class about Israel and the 7 Species of crops grown and harvested in Israel, followed by a scavenger hunt through the Whole Foods Market to find items containing the 7 Species. Event will conclude with a delicious 7 Species salad which participants could make at home to commemorate Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day). This and other recipes will be provided.

Bux-Mont Kehillah Festival

May 21, 2017 -
1:00pm to 3:30pm

The Fest is Sunday, May 21st from 1:00 - 3:30 PM at Burn Brae Day Camp in Dresher.  The goal of the Fest is to celebrate our Jewish community.  To that end, each synagogue will have a space to promote their programs while doing an activity for the children. (Or Hadash will have sand art projects.)

Along with these activities, Project Shema, JKidPhilly, Boy Scout Troop 665, Ramah Day Camp, Camp Gan Israel, & Camp JRF will all provide activities.  There will be GaGa, soccer, relays, and other fun activities for the families!

Presentation by the Or Hadash Gun Violence Prevention Task Force

Please join the Or Hadash Gun Violence Prevention Task Force on Friday, May 26th at 7:30 pm for a brief service led by Ruth Mermelstein and then a presentation by Jules Mermelstein on how to approach legislators regarding issues of importance to each of us (i.e. Gun Violence Prevention, Immigration, Climate Change, etc.).

Jules is a former township commissioner of Upper Dublin and he will share his insights and facilitate a discussion that will prepare us to approach legislators in the most effective way.

Healing Service

June 6, 2017 - 7:00pm

Healing services are held 4-5 times each year on select Tuesday evenings at 7 pm in the Rabbi's Study. This service is intended for those who are seeking physical or emotional healing for themselves or someone they care about. We share inspirational and comforting readings and music and enjoy the warmth and support of our community. The service usually lasts about an hour and is open to all, no RSVP needed. Debbie Karl will be leading the February 7th service.
