Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Three-Part Harmony will be held this Friday evening, beginning at 6:00 pm with Tot Shabbat. Then Rabbi Alanna will follow, on the same link, at 6:30 pm with a Community Candlelight & L'Chaim - a chance to come together and light Shabbat candles and share the light and what's on your table and what's in your heart. The Family Service at 7:00 pm will be led by Rabbi Alanna with Dave Levinson on guitar, live-streamed via YouTube.

Torah study & services will be led by Rabbi Alanna this Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am via Zoom. 

Minyan Hadash, led by Rabbi Alanna and congregants, via Zoom at 8:15 am daily, except Shabbat.

The Sleeping Mat Project

Volunteers meet at Or Hadash for The Sleeping Mat Project practicing the values of Bal Tashchit (do not waste) and Tikkun Olam (repair the world). Biweekly, volunteers make sleeping mats for homeless people out of recycled plastic bags.  These lightweight mats provide insulation from the wet and cold ground.

Or Hadash is the first faith-based organization that is working with Integrate for Good to create sleeping mats from recycled plastic bags.  These are later distributed to people who are homeless.  The Sleeping Mat Project is one of the activities of Integrate for Good, which has been operating since 2017 to strengthen local communities by expanding opportunities for people of all abilities to contribute their time and talent.
