Tisha B'Av Observance

Our annual Tisha B’Av observance will held at Or Hadash on the evening of Wednesday, July 29, 2009, beginning at 8:00 p.m. This solemn and contemplative program will include periods of silence and chanting, in commemoration of the many tragedies which have befallen the Jewish people throughout the course of our history. We will chant the traditional Book of Eichah (Lamentations), with English overreadings of selected passages by volunteer attendees. We will enter in silence and leave in silence. Please join us for what has come to be a touching experience in the tradition of our community. For those of you observing the Tisha B’Av fast, the 25 hour fast will begin at sunset on July 29 and continue through nightfall on July 30.
